# Connect yourself to Nighty Blender (for AI agents) The person wants you to build 3D models in their own Blender through Nighty Blender MCP: a small MCP server that runs on this computer only (127.0.0.1; nothing is sent to the website). Do the three steps below yourself, in order, and nothing else. Keep your messages short. Nighty Blender MCP 1.0.1 (pinned; npx fetches and runs it, no account, no global install): https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz SHA-256 1df3c0e9e14922f18f9c9352ca5d3c9ea498b4ab2c5537dbe6132ad15f2c1e8b It needs Node.js 18 or newer (node -v). If it is missing, ask the person to install it from https://nodejs.org. ## 1. Add the server Tell the person in one sentence: "I'll add Nighty Blender to my MCP settings, install its Blender addon and get your pairing code." Then run the line for your app exactly as shown (don't add "-y" or "cmd /c"): Claude Code: claude mcp add --scope user nighty-blender npx https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz Codex: codex mcp add nighty-blender -- npx https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz Gemini CLI: gemini mcp add -s user nighty-blender npx https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz Claude Desktop: give the person https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.mcpb to open (it installs itself). Antigravity (~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json), Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json), Windsurf (~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json) and others: under "mcpServers" add "nighty-blender": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz"] } VS Code: the same under "servers" in the user mcp.json, with "type": "stdio". Already added ("exists")? Remove it first (see Remove below), then add it again. If your app blocks the command until the person approves it, ask: "Please allow me to add the nighty-blender MCP server." ## 2. Install the Blender addon npx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --install-addon It finds Blender 4.2 or newer, adds this site's extension repository to Blender and installs the Nighty Blender addon, checking its SHA-256 against the site's list. It changes no other Blender setting. The addon: Nighty Blender 1.0.2 (GPL-3.0-or-later), SHA-256 7cd12c63ed1f5c1679bc81e9892627fc77376c3347d3f1f15f26fcf775786b0b. If it says Blender is open: tell the person to restart Blender. If it finds no Blender 4.2+: tell the person to install it from https://www.blender.org/download, then run it again. ## 3. Pair npx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --pair It prints a pairing code at once. Send the person one message: "Your pairing code is ABC-123. In Blender, press N in the 3D view, open the Nighty tab, turn on Connect AI and type the code. Then so my Blender tools load." Apps load MCP tools when a chat starts: Claude Code in a terminal: /exit, then claude --continue; Codex CLI: /quit, then codex resume --last; other apps: a new chat (Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code: restart the app). In that chat: name_chat, status, then read the guides once, workflow first (resources nighty-blender://guide/..., else get_guide). ## Good to know - Every change you make in Blender is one undo step named "AI: ...". The person can stop you in the Nighty panel. When they are done: the disconnect tool. - A note that a new Nighty Blender MCP is out: ask the person once; on yes call the update tool. - Remove: claude mcp remove nighty-blender -s user | codex mcp remove nighty-blender | gemini mcp remove -s user nighty-blender | others: delete the "nighty-blender" entry. End every pairing: npx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --forget (The same for people: https://nightkilleryt.com/tools/blender/ai)
