Connect an AI
Let Claude, Codex or another AI agent build 3D models in your own Blender. On your computer only.
Tell your AI
Paste this into your AI app. It sets everything up and gives you a code.
Connect yourself to Nighty Blender: read https://nightkilleryt.com/tools/blender/ai-setup.txt and follow it (you may add its MCP server, install its Blender addon and run its pairing command), then tell me the pairing code.-
Paste the line
Into Claude Code, Codex, Claude Desktop or another AI app.
-
Get your code
Your AI adds Nighty Blender, installs its Blender addon and gives you a pairing code.
-
Type it in Blender
Press N in the 3D view, open the Nighty tab, turn on Connect AI and type the code.
Then start a new chat in your AI app: it connects by itself. The pairing lasts while Connect AI stays on in Blender.
What your AI can do
Ask first
A short list to pick from before each model (or one question): mesh, triangle count, textures, size, engine, quality, views, versions.
Make it with local AI
From your picture (or words, as a picture you OK first) to a checked game asset with sharp color borders: Fast about 4–5 min, Balanced about 8–12.
Check its work
Pictures from every side, sizes, and mesh and texture checks before it calls anything done.
Texture and export
Real materials per part or baked AI textures, 1K to 4K, for Roblox, Unity, Unreal, Godot or glTF.
Set it up yourselfOne command or button per app

Windsurf and others
Any app that runs MCP servers (stdio): the command, or the settings file. Needs Node.js 18 or newer.
The command, for the app’s MCP settingsnpx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgzOr in Windsurf: ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json; others: their MCP settings
Add{ "mcpServers": { "nighty-blender": { "command": "npx", "args": [ "-y", "https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz" ] } } }
Then the addon and your code
Install the Blender addon
It finds Blender 4.2 or newer and installs Nighty Blender from this site, checked by its SHA-256. Restart Blender if it was open.
Run in a terminalnpx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --install-addonGet your code
It prints the code at once, no restart needed.
Run in a terminalnpx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --pairType it in Blender
Press N in the 3D view, open the Nighty tab, turn on Connect AI and type the code. Then start a new chat in your AI app.
The addon by hand: in Blender, Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions → Repositories → + → Add Remote Repository with https://nightkilleryt.com/blender/extensions/index.json, or download nighty_blender-1.0.2.zip (free software, GPL-3.0-or-later).
Without npx: download nighty-blender-mcp.mjs and run node nighty-blender-mcp.mjs --setup for its lines.
Disconnect or removePer app, and the addon
For now: ask your AI to unpair, or turn off Connect AI in Blender’s Nighty panel. That also ends the pairing. To take Nighty Blender MCP out of your app:
-
Claude Code
Run in a terminalclaude mcp remove nighty-blender -s userThe plugin: claude plugin uninstall nighty-blender@nightycode
-
Codex
Run in a terminalcodex mcp remove nighty-blender -
Claude Desktop
Settings > Extensions > Nighty Blender > Uninstall (or delete "nighty-blender" from claude_desktop_config.json).
-
Cursor
Cursor Settings > MCP: turn off or delete "nighty-blender".
-
VS Code
Command Palette > "MCP: List Servers" > nighty-blender > Uninstall.
-
Gemini CLI
Run in a terminalgemini mcp remove -s user nighty-blender -
Antigravity
Delete "nighty-blender" from ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json.
-
Windsurf and others
Delete "nighty-blender" from the app’s MCP settings.
The addon: in Blender, Edit → Preferences → Add-ons, Nighty Blender, then Uninstall. End every pairing with this computer: npx -y https://nightkilleryt.com/assets/blender/nighty-blender-mcp-1.0.1.tgz --forget
Safe by design
On your computer only
Nighty Blender MCP talks to Blender at 127.0.0.1. Nothing goes through this website, and no web page can connect.
You let it in
Blender connects only after you type the code in its Nighty panel. Turning Connect AI off or closing Blender ends the pairing.
You set the limits
Three levels in the Nighty panel: tools only, safe Python (the default) or full Python. Your AI can’t change it.
Downloads ask first
The local AI models and Instant Meshes download only after your AI shows the plan and you say yes.
Undo works
Every AI change is one undo step named “AI: …”, and the AI can only undo its own. Unused for 10 minutes, it turns off.
Troubleshooting
The AI can’t find Blender
Nighty Blender needs Blender 4.2 or newer. Install it from blender.org, or tell your AI where yours is: it can run --install-addon --blender <path to blender>.
There is no Nighty tab in Blender
Restart Blender after the install (save your work first). Still not there: Edit → Preferences → Add-ons, find Nighty Blender and turn it on.
Connect AI keeps looking
Your AI app must be running with Nighty Blender MCP (ask it for the code again). If another program uses ports 47871 to 47873, close it or restart the computer.
My AI asks before it adds the server
Adding an MCP server changes the AI app’s settings, so some apps ask you first. Allow it: it adds only the “nighty-blender” server.
The AI doesn’t see the Blender tools yet
AI apps load their tools when a chat starts: start a new chat (Claude Code in a terminal: /exit, then claude --continue). It connects by itself while Connect AI stays on.
It asks for a code again
The pairing ends when you turn Connect AI off, close Blender, your AI unpairs, or nobody used it for a while. Ask your AI for a new code. After five wrong tries a code is replaced too.
The AI says Node.js is missing
Nighty Blender MCP needs Node.js 18 or newer: get the LTS from nodejs.org.
Claude Desktop’s extension needs nothing: Install in Claude Desktop.
The AI wants to download AI models
The local AI makes your models, so it is needed once. Your AI shows each file, its license and size first (about 23 GB for Balanced) and you pick the folder. No NVIDIA card: your own 3D-service key works instead.
The AI built a model in code
It should only do that when you ask for it. Update Nighty Blender MCP (your AI offers it when a new one is out), or tell it: “use the local AI”.
Can two AI apps work at once?
Yes: Claude Code, Codex and others can work in the same Blender. The Nighty panel lists every chat with its own Disconnect, and each AI undoes only its own steps.
How do updates come?
The addon: Blender shows them (Edit → Preferences → Get Extensions). The program: your AI tells you when a new one is out and updates it in the same chat if you say yes.
